How do the seminars work?
Currently all seminars are recorded and available on demand, meaning you may purchase and view them whenever you desire. After you pay for a seminar you will receive an email containing links to the video, written materials, and attestation form. Download everything and you will have permanent access to the information.
Be sure you download the items in such a way that you will be able to find them on your computer. If you cannot find the files you may always feel free to download them again. You may download each file up to 3 times.
I don't want to download the seminar, can't I watch it online?
Yes, if you prefer to access a streaming video version of the seminar simply contact us and we will assist you.
How long do I have to watch the seminar?
You may take as long as you like to watch a seminar, but you must download it within 30 days of purchase. Your credits can only be reported as of the date you complete the seminar and we must have an attestation form noting the date of completion.
What software do I need?
We recommend Quicktime or VLC to watch the videos and Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the written materials. All of these programs are free.
Can I watch the seminars on my smart phone or tablet?
Yes, our seminars are compatible with smart phones and tablets. Simply make sure you have an application that will allow you to watch the videos, and also a pdf reader of some kind for the written materials.
Will I get CLE Credit?
Yes, CLE Credit is available. Freeman Consulting is an approved CLE provider in Pennsylvania. New Jersey attorneys will also receive credit for our seminars, the same amount of credit as a Pennsylvania attorney. Please check with other jurisdictions (or email us) if you are licensed in a different state and we will do what we can to assist you with your credit.
Can I take an ethics course if I need substantive credit?
Yes, ethics credits can take the place of substantive credits. For example, in Pennsylvania if you have 10 substantive credits and take 2 ethics courses you are fine. The reverse is not true, however. If you have 12 substantive credits you would still need to take an ethics course.
What does distance or alternative education mean?
In both Pennsylvania and New Jersey you may only take a portion of your credits via distance or alternative education. This means web-based, telephone or other forms of education in which you are not in the room with a live instructor. In Pennsylvania you may take 4 distance credits per year and distance credits do not carry over to the following year. Other jurisdictions have no limits on how many credits you may take via distance or alternative education. Is there a form to complete?
With each seminar you will find an Attestation and Evaluation form. Please complete the form and submit it within one week of completing the seminar. This form also serves as your record of completion.
How do you make sure I watched the seminar?
Each hour long seminar has two codes embedded in it. Be sure you watch and listen for the codes and write them down so you don't forget them. Write the codes on the provided attestation form and sign it. We use this combination of codes and the attestation form to satisfy the CLE Board's requirements.
